Ingredients
- Frozen dumplings (as much as you want)
- 2 tbsp. Vegetable oil
Starch Water
- 100ml Water
- 1 tbsp. Potato starch or flour
Dipping Sauce
- 1 tbsp. Soy sauce
- 1/2 tbsp. Vinegar
- Sesame oil to taste
- Chilli powder to taste
Instructions
You’ll need to use a non-stick frying pan with a lid for this recipe.
- With the heat off, pour the vegetable oil in the non-stick frying pan and add the frozen dumplings.
- Using a medium-low heat, fry the dumplings until the bottom of the dumplings start to brown (be careful as the oil will splatter a lot!).
- Mix the water and starch.
- Once the dumplings start to brown, stir the starch mixture and pour it into the frying pan.
- Quickly cover the pan with a lid and wait for 3 minutes.
- Open the lid and continue cooking until the water has evaporated and the starch is crispy.
- Cover the dumplings with a plate. If there is oil left in the frying pan, drain it. With one hand on the plate, lift the frying pan and turn turn it over to put the dumplings onto the plate.
Ta-da! Easy peasy!
Mom’s Tips
When you’re old enough to drink, fried dumplings make a great snack with beer.
As delicious as this dish is, there is a problem after cooking because you’ll find that everything around the frying pan will look like it took an oil shower.
Fried dumplings can also be a great camping food without the messy cleanup.
Hope you enjoy it!
